Argent Host 2025

 attending my first hobby event

I have made a post for making my gathering for this necropolis event, but I wanted to do another for experience as a whole, just because it was such a nice time.

I was in the area the day before, so I spent some time in the Pitt Rivers museum in Oxford which is one of my favorites for human history and natural bits. I've collected some of my favourite animals and exhibits here.

Miniatures everywhere you look! These houses were demonstrating building techniques from around the world in minature.

These masks are great inspiration as well, I have been really wanting to try sculpting something that's not just filler, so these feel like a great starting point.

The day of the event! I unfortunately didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked, i've included some taken by others here with some of mine, but there are so many floating around go and check out everyone elses content!

My first opponent was Gage of Hive Scum, this was such a fun game! Took me a minute to remember the rules as this was my second game ever, but we drew in the end with a ton of memorable moments. Getting to see these boards and models up close with my eyeballs rather than a picture on a screen was such a treat.

My second game was against Ben (apocrypha_now) which he won but only just! Was a really close game with a ton of back and forth. I loved the little open grave on this board, and the skulls on the steps were a great touch. My face hurt from laughing during this game, I think the game took about 3 timesa s long as it should have!

I forgot to take any pictures of the third game, but that's probably for the best as I got absolutely destroyed by KratarKorg (Chris) in a scenario that threw artillery shells at us every turn. Absolute chaos. The final game of the day was a 3 player blood bath against Mangling Minis and Halbard and Sallet on IG respectively. The highlight was my aberrant falling in a hole and getting jumped on to death..!

This was a really special event and I'm still riding the high of it. I feel more inspired than ever, and I feel i've made lots of friends to help pull my momentum along. I often struggle with actually working on the art that I love, so fingers crossed I can keep it up!
